Bruce Blevins was born in Powell, Wyoming, and graduated from Dubois, Wyoming, high school in 1965. After graduating from Montana State University with a degree in Mathematics, Bruce went to work as a civilian employee with the National Security Agency in Maryland. The end of the cold war presented an opportunity to take early retirement which Bruce did, moving to the Powell-Cody-Red Lodge area in 1997.
Bruce’s fun is historic research which has resulted in eleven regional history books. Most of his book involve maps, map histories or surveying. This interest was fueled by surveying work with the US Geological Survey and Bureau of Public Road during college summers. The collecting of antique maps added the history flavor.
